Multilingual menu: Uzbek, Russian, English in one menu, one tap

Fill in each dish once in three languages. The guest picks. A tourist and a grandfather from Chorsu scan the same QR.

How three languages are stored

In the admin panel every dish card has three fields: name and description in uz, ru and en. Categories work the same way. One menu, three languages. Photo, price, modifiers and nutrition are shared and language-independent. The menuPro table editor shows all languages on one screen.

  • An empty language falls back to the primary name; the card does not vanish
  • The POS name (iiko, r_keeper) is the primary language; fill the rest by hand or with AI

An old-town choyxona: half the guests are tourists

There used to be three printed menus, with stale prices in the English one. Now there is one QR per table. A German tourist scans it, taps EN: Plov with lamb, 55,000 UZS. The local family at the next table reads it in UZ. Prices change in one place, in all three languages at once.

Where the guest switches language

A language button sits at the top of every guest channel: laQR, laTable, laKiosk, laMenu, the laGuest app and the website. One tap changes the whole menu, categories and buttons. Telegram notifications are uz/ru/en too, so a waiter gets the call in his own language.

  • Three languages only: Uzbek (Latin), Russian, English. No fourth language for now
  • Cyrillic Uzbek is not a separate language; use the ru field if you need it

Questions & answers

Does a three-language menu cost extra?

No. Three languages are standard on every dish card, covered by the UZS 500,000 branch base.

Do I have to write the translations myself?

Write them by hand or hand it to ChatGPT/Claude via laCafe MCP, which fills the card in three languages. There is no built-in machine translation.

What if a dish has only a Russian name?

The dish still shows when the guest picks EN or UZ, with the primary-language name. The card is never hidden.

Do names from iiko come in three languages?

No. iiko and r_keeper provide one name, which becomes the primary. You fill the other two in laCafe; POS sync does not overwrite them.

Is the guest's language detected automatically?

The guest picks the language with a button and the choice is remembered on their phone. One tap is enough.
